Katie is an Associate practicing in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis on Indigenous law and labour & employment
Katie provides comprehensive advice to federally and provincially regulated employers and unions on various matters, including discipline and termination, workplace policies, contracts, collective agreement interpretation and human rights issues. She has represented clients before all levels of court in Manitoba, as well as in Human Rights Tribunals and Federal Court.
In addition, Katie advocated on behalf of numerous CFS Agencies, organizations and children in care in a landmark decision which struck down provincial legislation that wrongfully claimed Children’s Special Allowances benefits from children in care. This case resulted in a $530 million settlement in Manitoba.
